Hi all

I thought I would post a bit of a status update now that we are some way into the project.

The pre-production is going well. The building of the sets is now complete and the skins and texture are being worked on.

As I have said before, as this is a fun project there are no deadlines or schedules but below is what I would like to happen:

11 June - 20 June = pre-production (skins and textures as well as editing the internal set to work with the new texture)
21 June - 24 June = pre-production (BatIgor and myself working on where the shots will be taken, who will look after which parts of the production etc)
25 June - 9 July= production (I will set up specific dates and times that we will be doing shooting in this two week period)
10 July- * = Post-production (Both myself and BatIgor will work on the post production of the scenes, we don't yet know how long this will take)

I would also like to say that I won't be here from 13 June to 20 June but I will be able to answer to emails (styxplays@gmail.com).

This project is coming on amazingly and the amount of response from people has been far better than what I had hoped for.

As I have posted elsewhere the 1.7 update has set us back in terms of time scale.
We will wait until all the mods we use have been updated to 1.7 then we will continue to shoot. I will post shooting schedules in advance and the shoots will most likely be at the weekends so that as many people as possible can be available.

I won't be online over the weekend (changing ISPs). You can contact me by email though.

From next week I should be starting a temporary job. This will only last a couple of months and will definitely not affect the project. As I've said, the shoots we will be at the weekend and I will be online then. I will also be online for as many evening as possible (most I expect).

So the project is really starting to take-off, only set-back in terms of timing is the 1.7 update which was just highly unfortunate.

Can we not just simply stay on 1.6.6? It would create less hassle and be quicker...

Not all of our actors are passionate enough about our project to stay on 1.6.6, because it requires some time to do so.

Well all you have to do is replace the bin folder with a 1.6.6 data thing. I back-up minecraft before I go ahead with updates.

Windows 7: Click Start > Go to the Search bar > Type in "%appdata%" (Without the ") > Go in .minecraft folder > Go in bin folder > Delete everything in the bin folder (Will not delete worlds and stuff.) > Replace with the 1.6.6 files you have > Run and click Not now on the update section. > Enjoy

Any other OS: Click on Minecraft > Click on Mods and Texture packs > Click Open texture Pack folder > Go up to the address bar > Click on .minecraft > Go in bin folder > Delete everything in the bin folder (Will not delete worlds and stuff.) > Replace with the 1.6.6 files you have > Run and click Not now on the update section. > Enjoy

Hey guys, I am back on the internet.

The MC server is now running 1.7.2 so we can connect.

We will have to wait for Minaptics at the very least to update to 1.7.2, it is too useful for the camera work and some scenes we just can't do without it.

The GLSL shaders don't matter as much.

So, when the Minaptics gets released for 1.7.2 I will post a shooting schedule and email a ton of people to try and get as many people as possible involved with the shooting.

Thank you for your patience, I am sure we can resume shooting soon.

I have been asking my server(s) but it surprising how many people don't want to do it. How many people do you need? I will try my best to reach that quota.

Yeah we will want around 15 actors for the largest zombie scene, however, for the majority of the indoor scenes we could probably get away with only 4 or 5 actors at any one time.

If you can get people to participate in the acting that would be great, especially if you know them.
I will post this later but if you want to help act you must be on the mumble voice server, even if you don't have a microphone, you must be on there to listen to directions. The building wasn't too bad without voice communication, but for acting there is no way around it.

Again, sorry for the delay, please stick around because this project is going to be awesome.

Kk, unfortunately my server has just shut down, but someone made their own server and were just starting that one up. I will get asking again.

Also, should we try to contact yogscast/captain sparkles/ notch now and ask them if they would release a video when were done with it?

But if you are talking about mentioning, then sure, we will try to be mentioned somehow.

As for now, we mainly need to be focused on the production part. There is no point in discussing about publication the video when it's not even half-done yet.

Awesome... but is the DOF effect really crucial? How many scenes do you plan on using this with and how many actors will be in the scenes? I ask this because it isn't really that hard to get 1.6.6 and if it is just for short scenes with not many characters it should be fairly simple to do.

This is very good news, everything we need has been updated (we don't have to wait for the GLSL shaders).
I am going to post a shooting schedule which will start this saturday. As this is quite close we might not get that many actors but we can make a start. I will post the schedule in another thread.
