Project Organisation

Post  Styx on Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:04 pm

The project will be organised much like a real film would be. Please see the stages below.

We will not be using deadlines or time schedules, it will be finished when we finish it. There is no point rushing things when we just do this in our spare time.

Pre-Production (Current Stage)
This is where we get everything ready. We will build the set, create the character skins and make any adjustments to the texture pack.

Production
This is the part where we act out the character movements on the server whilst it is being recorded.

Post-Production
This stage is the editing stage of the project whereby all the clips are edited together to fit the audio of the movie.

Release/publication
This is when the movie is released and we need to make as many people aware of it as possible. No point in making a film if no one watches it!

During Pre-Production, shouldn't someone be checking the times for when we can film, like:

Finding out the countries all the actors/actresses are from
Getting a time which is playable. Prime time/weekends
(I am talking about when we need like 6 people shots including Cameraman)
I don't mean like saying, you HAVE to be on at (so and so), but saying, we will try and film at ____ as it is a good time for us to film

Something like that?

Will there be any problems with timezones?

To start with, no. The pre-production, post-production and release/marketing can all be done independently so time zones don't matter too much here.
We might have a bit of a problem when it comes to production though (the filming of the characters). I will try and work something out here later on but we will need to be careful with time zones and what I am thinking at the moment is to do it in the evening (UK time) at the weekend. This should allow for the maximum possible people to be around.

Wink

Yeah setting times for shooting sessions is probably what we will do just to try and get as many people on as possible for the larger scenes. In about a weeks time I will start to release a "schedule" for the shooting.
